Team Rules:

Cooperation

  • Must be on time for practice.
  • Must ride the bus to practice, unless parent note is provided to the coach.
  • Must ride the appropriate bus to and from all competitions, unless prior arrangements have been made with the coach.
  • Follow all instructions given by coaches.
  • Obey all rules and regulations outlined in the participation policy.

Attitude

  • Must be unselfish to others, we are a team.
  • Respect coaches, team captains, teammates, and adults.
  • Do not use athletics as an excuse for poor school attendance and/or performance.

Sportsmanship

  • Accept discipline and decisions without questions.
  • Refrain from grandstanding.
  • Represent the school well in the community and as a member of the hosting or visiting team.

Training/Attendance

  • Non-club members: three water practices per week and team meals.
  • Club swimmers and divers: one water practice per week and all team meals.
  • Failure to meet the attendance requirements will result in forfeiture of participation in the meet that week as per the new state rule.
  • Absences will be excused only if arranged in advance with the coach.

Conduct

  • Any form of hazing (including shaving heads) will result in immediate dismissal from the swim/dive team.
  • Any use of alcohol, tobacco, or other illegal substance will result in dismissal from the swim/dive team.
  • Any behavior deemed inappropriate by the coaches will result in meet suspension and/or dismissal from the team.

Requirements to Earn an Athletic Letter in Swim/Dive

In addition to adhering to the rules listed above, to earn your athletic letter in swimming/diving you must also do the following:

  • Swimmers must compete in all dual meets. Exceptions will be made on an individual basis.
  • Divers must compete in four out of seven dual meets. Exceptions will be made on an individual basis.
  • The coach has the right to extend or retain a letter with cause.
