PRACTICE & TEAM MEETING INFORMATION

 

2011-2012 Swim/Dive Practices:

 Swim Practice Hours+:

M, T, Th — 3:30 p.m. - 4:15* p.m.
W — 3:30pm - 4:30pm
*end time may extended to 4:30pm, if possible.


Dive Practice Hours:  
M, T, Th — 4:15 p.m. - 5:30 p.m
W — No Dive.

Swim and dive practices will be held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday throughout the swim season beginning Mon., Nov. 14, 2011, and ending TBD, except during school holidays (see list below).  There will be additional practices for swimmers who qualify for districts, regions, and/or states.  Swimmers/divers who train regularly with a swim/dive club are expected to attend team practices as follows:
 1. If you practice 5x/week you MUST attend 1 practice.
2. If you practice 3x/week you are expected to attend 2 practices.
3. If you practice less than 3x/week than you are expected to attend all RSD practices.

ALL swimmers & divers are expected to attend the team meeting every Friday. NOTE:  All team members MUST attend at least one practice weekly to be eligible to compete.

 

** Practices will NOT be held on the following dates:

Thurs., Nov. 24 (HOLIDAY - Thanksgiving)

Mon., Jan. 16 (HOLIDAY - Martin Luther King's Birthday)

Note: There WILL be practice over the Winter holidays.

+  Swimmers & divers are expected to ride the bus to & from practices unless alternate arrangements have been approved by the coach.  Students who wish to drive to and/or from practice themselves, MUST provide completed copy (with necessary signatures) of the Driver's License & Vehicle Insurance Information form to the coach BEFORE they can begin driving independently.  Students who wish to ride to and/or from practice with other students MUST provide completed copy (with necessary signatures) of the Parent Acknowledgement Form to the coach BEFORE they can begin riding with others.

*  Bus pick-ups & drops off outside RSS entrance #9 on the back side of the school near the modulars/trailers.  Swimmers & divers, boys & girls all ride a single bus.
NOTE:  Both swimmers & divers will ride a single bus to South Run leaving Robinson at TBD.  The bus will return to Robinson at the conclusion of the SWIM  practice.  Due to the small number of divers requiring transportation, they will be responsible for finding their own transportation home from practice. 
 

  Transportation to/from meets & after meet team meeting

This year, there will NOT be transportation BACK to Robinson from swim&dive meets.  A bus will transport the team TO the meet; but not back home at the conclusion the meet.  ALL team members must find their own transportation home.  Team members must stay to the conclusion of each meet for a mandatory team meeting.  If athlete will be riding home from meets with another swimmer/diver or parent (other than their own), Coach Phil MUST have the necessary required forms on file.

Team Meetings

Team meetings will be held in the gold cafeteria each Friday afternoon preceding a Friday evening dual meet. The meetings last for about 30 to 45 minutes beginning at 2:30 p.m. and include a meal - pizza, subs, or pasta, etc. Since Robinson's meets start at 6:30 p.m. this year and can run as late as 10:00 p.m., swimmers/divers may wish to bring a snack to supplement the team meal. All swimmers should bring a water bottle to stay hydrated before and during the meet.
